These timeless earrings celebrate a 7th-century Frankish disk brooch with red garnets and blue glass embellishments at The Met. Brooches were central to the evolution of Frankish fashion; between the 300s and 500s, women turned to pairs of small brooches in inventive shapes to fasten the wraps they wore around their tunics.
